What is an ID card ribbon?

An ID card ribbon is a fabric neck band, 20 mm wide and about 90 cm long, with a metal hook at the bottom that clips onto an ID card holder, badge or key ring. It is worn around the neck so identity cards stay visible and don't get lost.

In India the same product goes by many names depending on who is asking. All of these describe the same item:

Lanyard, ID card ribbon, rope or strap — what's the difference?

Short answer: there is no difference. Lanyard, ID card ribbon, ID card rope and ID card strap are different names for the same product. If one supplier quotes you for a "lanyard" and another for an "ID card ribbon", you are comparing the same item. Whichever name you use, we print it — from a single piece.

ID card ribbon vs ID card printer ribbon — don't mix these up

Two very different products share almost the same name:

• ID card ribbon (this product) — a satin nylon neck band worn around the neck to hold and display an ID card. Custom printed with your logo.

Tagsen ID card ribbons are 20 mm wide, which gives enough print area for logos, company names and taglines to stay readable from a distance. The standard length is about 90 cm measured as the full loop, which sits the ID card at mid-chest on an average adult. This is the size used for office ID cards, visitor passes and conference badges across India. Other lengths are available on bulk orders.
